On the morning of Friday, May 9, the annual grand event of Jihong Chao Music Society of Longgang Street, Longgang District, Shenzhen was held. The actors of the Hongchao Music Society performed many classic plays at this annual meeting. The comedy segments vividly portrayed the life of the city with humorous singing and agile movements, which made the audience laugh continuously; the tragedy segments portrayed the ups and downs of the characters' fate through sad and lingering tunes, which drew thunderous applause from the audience. The fusion of the melodious accompaniment of traditional instruments and the light and shadow of the modern stage further highlighted the artistic tension of Chaozhou Opera and demonstrated the innovative vitality of intangible cultural heritage in the contemporary era.
